I'm one of those wierd people that LOVES liver! High in iron for those of us that need it and easy to cook.

Fried Beef Liver


For 4 Servings


  • 3 tablespoons bacon fat. You can also use olive oil or canola oil if you do not have bacon fat
  • 1 pound liver, sliced like stir fry meat
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Red crushed pepper, to taste

Fried Beef Liver Directions

  1. Season liver with salt, pepper and crushed red pepper.
  2. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and fry for one minute. Then add liver and onions and fry till liver is done. This will be about 5-10 minutes depending on how cooked you want your liver. I like my beef liver a little red inside and the onions crunchy. 
  3. When done remove from heat and eat as is, with a salad, over rice or make a gravy and have it with mashed potatoes and gravy or rice and gravy. Either way its good!
